Before you start
- A practice site and permission for the task.
- EMCP Pro on the source; a working destination WordPress install.
- Admin access and a fresh backup of the destination.
Let’s do this, step by step.
Step 01
Prepare the backup and connector
On the source, open Safety → Backup & Migrate. Complete a Full site backup in Backup. Open Migrate and click Download the connector; install and activate that ZIP on the destination.
First create a completed full backup on the source. Then download the current connector from Migrate and install it on the destination site.
Step 02
Pair the two sites
On the destination open Settings → EMCP Connector. Choose a 5, 10 or 15 minute window and click Arm pairing. In the source’s Step 2 enter Live site URL (https) and the Pairing code, then Pair site.

Step 03
Review source and destination
Confirm both addresses, the archive to transfer, and the destination backup.
This replaces the destination database and files. Pause and check the direction so a staging copy does not overwrite valuable live orders or submissions.
Step 04
Push to live
Under Step 3: Push to live choose Destination and Backup to push. Only completed full backups appear. Click Push to live and confirm after checking direction. Monitor transfer and restore.

Step 05
Check and clean up
Test the live site, then use Remove connector when it is no longer needed. If unreachable, remove it through the destination admin.
Check important pages, media, forms, and account access before handing over. Confirm cleanup rather than assuming the remote plugin was removed.
