How to choose

Four questions before you install.

Where does your site run?

Self-hosted sites can use any plugin here. A site on WordPress.com uses its hosted MCP; an archived plugin needs a replacement.

Which builder do you use?

Builder support varies most between products. Check that your page builder has dedicated tools, not only generic post editing.

How will you review changes?

Look for drafts, per-tool switches, approval steps and an undo history before you let an agent write on a live site.

What will it cost at your scale?

Compare the free edition, per-site licences and any hosted service, for the number of sites you actually run.

Then try one representative task on a staging site with your shortlist. Our guide to WordPress MCP setup models explains the differences between an adapter, a plugin and a hosted server.
