The practical difference

Easy MCP AI, now published by Themeisle, combines a self-hosted WordPress MCP server with content, plugin, SEO and analytics tools. EMCP pairs dedicated page-building workflows with broader site operations. Both can connect your existing AI client directly to WordPress.

Which one fits your site?

The useful question is which setup fits the next piece of work you need to ship.

01 / Plugin

Choose Easy MCP AI

You want a completely free connector focused on content, SEO and analytics, with access levels set per token.

  • Manage content and connected SEO or analytics services.
  • Choose OAuth or a scoped API token for a direct site connection.
  • Use a free connector with site-wide and per-connection controls.
Read the vendor documentation
02 / EMCP Tools

Keep or start with EMCP

You need dedicated page-builder adapters, backups and migration, or an upgrade path to Pro and Cloud.

  • Build with dedicated adapters for Elementor, Gutenberg and 12 standalone page builders.
  • Review recorded changes in History, and back up, restore or migrate whole sites with Pro.
  • Start with the Free plugin, then add Pro or a hosted Cloud connection when needed.
Install the Free plugin

EMCP Pro and EMCP Cloud are separate products. Builder and plugin features also depend on what is installed on your site. Hosted fleet automation, bulk enrollment and managed configuration currently have restricted pilot access.

Workflow emphasisElementor (classic and atomic) and Gutenberg with five block packs, plus 12 standalone builder integrations. One standalone builder is active at a time; availability depends on the installed builder and edition. [5]Content and plugin integrations, plus SEO and analytics tools. Access modelWordPress capability checks, per-tool switches, confirmation for destructive tools and a management access list for who can configure EMCP. [7]User-bound tokens, read-only/custom access, disabled-tool policies and configurable destructive-action approval. [2]
Audit and recoveryHistory groups recorded changes by session, with diffs and session undo; coverage varies by operation. Pro adds full site backups, restore and migration. [8]Configurable Audit Log plus Change History snapshots. Check the documented scope and retention for your operations. [2]
Product costFree plugin, optional EMCP Pro license and separate optional Cloud plans. Your AI provider and third-party plugin licenses are separate. [9]The vendor states that the plugin has no paid plan or subscription fee. AI and external service charges remain separate. [1]

This is a documentation comparison, not a hands-on benchmark. Broad code or API access may support work beyond a dedicated tool. No tool-count score or unverified performance claim determines a winner.

Look a little closer

Differences to check before choosing.

Separate page-building from connected data

Easy MCP AI’s listing documents SEO and analytics sources such as Search Console and Google Analytics. These are useful when content decisions depend on external data. EMCP’s dedicated Elementor workflow centers on editor structure, widgets, controls and templates. Test whichever task is central to your work.

Configure access on both sides

Easy MCP AI documents token access levels, user permissions and site-wide restrictions. EMCP also lets you disable tools and applies WordPress capability checks. Start with the smallest useful set of operations, then verify an allowed read, an allowed edit and a refused operation on staging.

Make the comparison concrete

Try the same task on staging.

A small test tells you more than matching tool names or counting integrations.

Read
“List my five most recent pages with their status and last edited date. Do not change anything.”
Shows whether each product can read your site accurately, without writing.
Build
“Build a landing page for a cooking school’s autumn workshop: a hero with a booking button, three benefits, and an FAQ with three questions. Leave it as a draft.”
Shows how each product builds a page you can still edit in your builder.

Then check these on both

  1. 1Step 1

Connect a staging site and inspect the tools each plugin exposes.

  2. 2Step 2

Test one editable page-building operation and one SEO/content task.

  3. 3Step 3

Verify a restricted operation is refused, then inspect the audit and recovery records.

Use comparable permissions and installed plugin versions. Check the editor, rendered result and recovery behavior before making the same change on a live site.

Common questions

About EMCP vs Easy MCP AI.

Does Easy MCP AI require Node.js or a hosted proxy?

Its getting-started guide describes a PHP server running inside WordPress without Node.js or an external proxy. EMCP also offers a direct site route, with optional local and hosted connection methods. Read the source.

Does the free plugin include external SEO service subscriptions?

No. The connector is free, but your AI provider and any premium plugin or external data service have independent terms and pricing. Verify those accounts before planning an analytics workflow. Read the source.

Does an ability bridge prove identical builder support?

No. Discovering another plugin’s registered abilities and implementing a dedicated builder operation are different kinds of access. Check whether the specific tools can inspect, edit and validate your native page structure.

Try one task first

Run the same task on staging.

Install EMCP Free, connect your AI client, and give EMCP and Easy MCP AI the same small task. Compare the result, how editable it is, and how each one undoes the change.

When you need additional workflows, compare Free vs Pro and current pricing.
