The practical difference

Respira emphasizes native builder editing, review and recovery across its supported builders. EMCP combines editable Elementor workflows, WordPress tools and optional Cloud services. Compare the installed builder, the approval path and the recovery record for your actual task.

Which one fits your site?

The useful question is which setup fits the next piece of work you need to ship.

01 / Plugin

Choose Respira

You want copy-first review across 16 builders and plan pricing based on sites and team seats.

  • Use Respira’s documented native builder workflows.
  • Evaluate its copy-first review and snapshot-based recovery model.
  • Choose its current plan by the sites and team seats you need.
Read the vendor documentation
02 / EMCP Tools

Keep or start with EMCP

You want a free plugin to start with, paying for Pro or Cloud only when you need them, with built-in backups and migration.

  • Build with dedicated adapters for Elementor, Gutenberg and 12 standalone page builders.
  • Review recorded changes in History, and back up, restore or migrate whole sites with Pro.
  • Start with the Free plugin, then add Pro or a hosted Cloud connection when needed.
Install the Free plugin

EMCP Pro and EMCP Cloud are separate products. Builder and plugin features also depend on what is installed on your site. Hosted fleet automation, bulk enrollment and managed configuration currently have restricted pilot access.

Documented capabilities and setup of EMCP and Respira, reviewed 12 October 2026
What mattersEMCP ToolsFree, Pro and optional CloudRespiraCurrent vendor documentation
ConnectionConnect directly to your WordPress MCP server through OAuth, an Application Password or a local WP-CLI bridge. [4]Direct remote MCP through browser sign-in or an API key; a local npm bridge is another documented option. [1]
Builder workflowsElementor (classic and atomic) and Gutenberg with five block packs, plus 12 standalone builder integrations. One standalone builder is active at a time; availability depends on the installed builder and edition. [5]Documents native editing across 16 builders, including Elementor, Bricks, Divi, Oxygen and Gutenberg. [3]
Review and recoveryHistory groups recorded changes by session, with diffs and session undo; coverage varies by operation. Pro adds full site backups, restore and migration. [6]Advertises working on a copy first, approval before applying changes and snapshot-based undo. [1]
Access modelWordPress capability checks, per-tool switches, confirmation for destructive tools and a management access list for who can configure EMCP. [7]Tool switches and access profiles apply across the npm, REST and site MCP connection paths. [1]
Multiple sitesA local site registry or the hosted multi-site Gateway. Gateway access requires an eligible paid Cloud plan and authorization on each site. [8]Plans are organized around site and team-seat allowances; check the current dashboard and connector setup. [3]
Product costFree plugin, optional EMCP Pro license and separate optional Cloud plans. Your AI provider and third-party plugin licenses are separate. [9]Paid plans from 1 to 250 sites, with a 7-day free trial on the 1-site plan and extra team seats at €10 a month. The AI subscription is separate. [3]

This is a documentation comparison, not a hands-on benchmark. Broad code or API access may support work beyond a dedicated tool. No tool-count score or unverified performance claim determines a winner.

Validate the native editor output

Respira describes builder-aware editing and a copy-first review process. EMCP’s Elementor tools operate on editable editor structures. Use the same staging layout for both: inspect its tree, change a component, reopen the editor and compare the rendered desktop and mobile result.

Match the connection to your client

Respira now documents direct browser sign-in as well as key-based and local-server routes. Its OAuth guide covers the direct Claude Desktop setup. Avoid assuming that every connection needs Node.js; check the route your client supports. EMCP similarly offers direct, local and optional hosted Gateway routes.

Make the comparison concrete

Try the same task on staging.

A small test tells you more than matching tool names or counting integrations.

Read
“List my five most recent pages with their status and last edited date. Do not change anything.”
Shows whether each product can read your site accurately, without writing.
Build
“Build a landing page for a cooking school’s autumn workshop: a hero with a booking button, three benefits, and an FAQ with three questions. Leave it as a draft.”
Shows how each product builds a page you can still edit in your builder.

Then check these on both

  1. 1Step 1

Open the same staging page in its native builder after each tool reads it.

  2. 2Step 2

Change one section, review the proposal and verify responsive rendering.

  3. 3Step 3

Test recovery, then compare the site, seat and optional service costs for your team.

Use comparable permissions and installed plugin versions. Check the editor, rendered result and recovery behavior before making the same change on a live site.

Common questions

About EMCP vs Respira.

Does Respira always require a local npm server?

No. Its current documentation includes direct remote MCP connections as well as a local bridge. Check the supported authentication method for the AI client you plan to use. Read the source.

Is EMCP Cloud required for Elementor tools?

No. You can connect an MCP client directly to a site running EMCP. The hosted multi-site Gateway is an optional service on eligible paid Cloud plans. Read the source.

Which product supports more builders?

Builder counts alone do not establish task parity. Compare the installed versions, available operations, native editor validity and recovery coverage for the builder your team actually uses.
