Self-hosted plugin
Same AI clients. Two ways to build.
The practical difference
Royal MCP is a WordPress connector with core tools, conditional integrations and documented undo workflows. EMCP brings Elementor page-building tools, WordPress operations and optional Cloud services. Start with your builder and the changes you need to make.
EMCP Pro and EMCP Cloud are separate products. Builder and plugin features also depend on what is installed on your site. Hosted fleet automation, bulk enrollment and managed configuration currently have restricted pilot access.

Connection
Connect directly to your WordPress MCP server through OAuth, an Application Password or a local WP-CLI bridge. [4]
WordPress plugin with client-specific MCP setup guides, including OAuth connection workflows. [3]
Builder workflows
Elementor (classic and atomic) and Gutenberg with five block packs, plus 12 standalone builder integrations. One standalone builder is active at a time; availability depends on the installed builder and edition. [5]
Free includes Elementor and Divi integrations; Royal MCP Pro adds Elementor and Divi page authoring. [1]
WordPress scope
WordPress content, media, users, plugins and site operations, alongside builder-specific tools. [6]
Core content, media, menus, diagnostics and supported plugin integrations, including WooCommerce. [2]
Access model
WordPress capability checks, per-tool switches, confirmation for destructive tools and a management access list for who can configure EMCP. [7]
The repository documents capability checks, rate limiting and audit logging for tool calls. [2]
Recovery workflow
History groups recorded changes by session, with diffs and session undo; coverage varies by operation. Pro adds full site backups, restore and migration. [8]
Royal MCP Pro adds undo tokens kept for up to 168 hours for supported destructive writes, plus tamper-evident audit logging. [1]
Product cost
Free plugin, optional EMCP Pro license and separate optional Cloud plans. Your AI provider and third-party plugin licenses are separate. [9]
Free core plugin with an optional Royal MCP Pro workflow layer. Confirm edition-specific coverage. [1]
This is a documentation comparison, not a hands-on benchmark. Broad code or API access may support work beyond a dedicated tool. No tool-count score or unverified performance claim determines a winner.
Look a little closer
Differences to check before choosing.
Both products extend beyond Elementor
Royal MCP’s repository lists core WordPress operations and integrations that register when the relevant plugin is active. EMCP also provides dedicated plugin and builder tools. Match the operation you need, such as reading a widget schema or updating a product, to the installed edition.
Royal MCP Pro advertises timed undo tokens for destructive writes. EMCP’s History records supported changes and exposes rollback where a complete recovery record exists. Before a real rollout, test the specific edit, a later manual change and the recovery behavior; neither description is a substitute for a full backup.
A small test tells you more than matching tool names or counting integrations.

Read
“List my five most recent pages with their status and last edited date. Do not change anything.”
Shows whether each product can read your site accurately, without writing.
Build
“Build a landing page for a cooking school’s autumn workshop: a hero with a booking button, three benefits, and an FAQ with three questions. Leave it as a draft.”
Shows how each product builds a page you can still edit in your builder.
Then check these on both
1Step 1
Inspect one Elementor page and list the available operations in each plugin.
2Step 2
Preview and apply a small, reversible change on staging.
3Step 3
Undo that change, then check how each tool handles a subsequent manual edit.
Use comparable permissions and installed plugin versions. Check the editor, rendered result and recovery behavior before making the same change on a live site.
Common questions
About EMCP vs Royal MCP.
Does Royal MCP support Elementor?
Yes. The free plugin includes an Elementor integration, and Royal MCP Pro adds Elementor and Divi page authoring. Compare the exact operation and installed builder version, rather than treating Elementor support as a single checkbox. Read the source.
Is Royal MCP entirely free?
The core plugin is free, and Royal now offers an optional Pro workflow layer. EMCP similarly separates Free and Pro; EMCP Cloud is an additional optional service. Read the source.
Can EMCP undo every possible WordPress change?
No. History and rollback cover supported, recorded changes with the necessary recovery data. Arbitrary external edits, side effects and incomplete snapshots may not be reversible through History. Keep independent backups. Read the source.
