MCP for Yoast SEO

Your AI reads and sets the SEO of any post, page, or term in Yoast, title, description, canonical, robots, focus keyword, social.

What the Yoast SEO integration does

Yoast SEO is the plugin most WordPress sites reach for first, the green-light readability and SEO checks are practically synonymous with on-page optimisation. EMCP connects your AI straight to everything Yoast stores per post and per term, plus its title and meta settings, over one unified field vocabulary. You never touch Yoast's internal encodings; you work in plain fields like title, description, noindex, and og_image, and EMCP translates.

That closes the loop between "the AI wrote great copy" and "the page is actually optimised." Ask it to set the SEO title and meta description, front-load the focus keyword, fix the canonical on a duplicate, or set the Open Graph image for social shares, for a single post or across a batch, and it writes the real Yoast fields, live.

What your AI can do

Once Yoast SEO is active, ask any MCP client, Claude, Cursor, or your own, to do these in plain language.

Example prompts

Real instructions you can hand your agent for Yoast SEO.

"Set the SEO title and meta description for this product page and set 'ergonomic office chair' as the focus keyword."

"Give every category archive a Yoast SEO title in the format: Category, Site Name."

"Set the Facebook and Twitter titles on this post to match the new headline."

Under the hood

Read, then rewrite a page's SEO, how EMCP drives Yoast SEO.

yoast-read({ operation: "get-post-seo", arguments: { post_id: 42 } })

yoast-write({ operation: "update-post-seo", arguments: {
  post_id: 42,
title: "Best Ergonomic Chairs (2026), Tested & Ranked",
description: "Our team tested 30 ergonomic office chairs…",
  noindex: false
} })

Note: Pro EMCP integration. Yoast term SEO is stored in Yoast's own taxonomy-meta option and handled transparently.

The Yoast SEO integration is part of EMCP Pro

Yoast SEO reads and writes come with EMCP Pro, alongside every other Pro plugin integration, AI-assisted building, 50 premium templates, and 50+ prompts. The free plugin already includes the full Elementor, Gutenberg, WordPress, and Themes toolkits, Pro adds the deep third-party integrations.

Frequently asked

Does this change how Yoast SEO works on my site?

No. EMCP reads and writes the exact same post and term metadata Yoast SEO already stores, using the standard WordPress meta and options. Your front-end output, sitemaps, and settings behave exactly as before, the AI is just another way to read and set the same values you'd edit in the Yoast SEO box.

Is it safe to let an AI change my SEO titles?

Yes, and you stay in control. The read tool is enabled by default; the write tool ships disabled until you turn it on under EMCP Tools → Tools → Plugins → SEO. Writes only touch the fields you pass, everything else is left untouched, and every change is a normal post/term meta update you can revert.
