Your next step is ready.
Follow the complete written guide below.
The video will join it here when it’s ready.
Before you start
- A verified connection to a practice site.
- An active supported SEO plugin.
- Required EMCP tier and SEO write tool enabled.
- A practice page with real content.
Let’s do this, step by step.
Step 01
Check the integration tools
Open Setup → Tools → Plugins → SEO. This is separate from the audit toolkit on the WordPress tab. Inspect dependencies and both read/write switches. Enable the actions for this task, choose Save changes, then reconnect.
Before starting, find this integration on the Tools screen. Check the required plugin and action switches. Save the changes and reconnect your app. This is separate from the audit toolkit on the WordPress tab.
Step 02
Inspect the current metadata
Identify the active SEO plugin and read the selected page's title, description, and indexing settings.
Use the integration for the plugin actually installed. Some fields and term operations are not supported by every plugin.
Step 03
Draft accurate text
Propose a clear title and description based on the page's real content.
The text should describe the page, not promise a result it cannot support. Keep indexing and canonical settings unchanged unless those changes are explicitly part of the task.
Step 04
Save only reviewed fields
Apply the title and description to the exact page ID, then read them back.
A focused update changes only the fields we choose. Do not turn off noindex on a staging page just to follow a metadata example.
Step 05
Choose a social image
If the plugin supports it, set the intended Open Graph and social image from an existing attachment.
The featured image and social image are not always the same setting. Check the plugin's supported field format.
Step 06
Check the rendered page
For a public test page, inspect the server-rendered title, description, robots, and social tags. Use the SEO plugin preview for a private draft.
Stored values can differ from public output because of plugin defaults or setup. The HTML reader does not sign into private pages or run JavaScript.
You’re done when…
Stored metadata matches the intended change and the available rendered output is checked.
