Manage plugins, themes, and user profiles
Inspect the site inventory and make small, deliberate administration changes.

Your next step is ready.
Follow the complete written guide below.
The video will join it here when it’s ready.
Before you start
- A verified connection to a practice site.
- Administrator capabilities for the specific operation.
- A current backup before package changes.
Let’s do this, step by step.
Step 01
Inspect before changing
List installed plugins and themes with their versions, activity, and update status.
Start with the site's inventory. A tool may flag protected components that it will not deactivate or delete.
Step 02
Enable one needed action
In EMCP Tools → Tools → WordPress, enable the specific package action for the task.
Write actions start disabled. Enabling one does not authorize unrelated changes, so describe the exact plugin and intended operation.
Step 03
Install or update deliberately
Use a WordPress directory slug, or upload a trusted ZIP and use its exact returned checksum and confirmation for installation.
A ZIP installation requires the verified uploaded file. It cannot overwrite an existing installation through this route. Check whether activation is part of the requested task.
Step 04
Verify the site
Read the plugin status and check affected pages and admin screens.
Some hosts require filesystem access the tool cannot provide. If that happens, use the host's supported installation process rather than assuming the package was installed.
Step 05
Update a non-admin profile
Inspect a test user's current profile. Enable update-user, change only its display name, and read it back.
These profile tools do not change roles or passwords, and they refuse administrator-level targets. Creating an account sends a real email, so use your own test address if demonstrating that action.
You’re done when…
The selected package or profile change is verified and the site's affected pages still work.
