Keep a long description from pushing the rest of the page down. Fold the content by visible height, by number of lines or by number of words, then let the reader expand it with a text link, button, outline button, pill or full-width bar. A gradient-free fade can soften the cut (set the fade color to match your background), the block can collapse again, the page can scroll back to the top of the block on collapse, and the folded text itself can be clickable. Animation duration is yours to set.
