What is official Elementor MCP?
Elementor’s official MCP connects external AI clients to native, editable Elementor structures through WordPress AI Abilities. Its 15 September 2026 announcement describes Atomic page creation and editing, classes and variables, responsive settings, theme parts, components, and dynamic content.
At the 17 September review, the documented setup requires the beta channel: enable beta testing, update to the latest beta, activate Atomic Editor, then open Elementor’s MCP screen. The connection is per site and admin-only. Elementor can generate a setup prompt containing an Application Password, or you can configure the connection manually.
Generated work is saved as drafts. If the visual editor and AI modify the same page, Elementor reports a conflict and offers refresh or discard options. That makes the official workflow worth evaluating when your goal is an Atomic-first workflow with a visual-editor handoff.
Basic sections and features follow Elementor’s free offering; Pro elements need Elementor Pro. Your AI provider bills its own usage separately. Broader abilities have an additional Angie dependency, explained below.
What EMCP Tools offers
EMCP Tools is a standalone WordPress plugin that exposes Elementor and wider WordPress operations to MCP clients. It runs on your server and saves page changes through Elementor’s document pipeline. Core page building works with free Elementor 3.20+, without opting into Elementor’s beta channel.
The EMCP Elementor catalog covers widgets, containers, templates, global styles, and supported Atomic Elements and Global Classes on Elementor 4.0+. When Elementor Pro is installed, its widgets become available. Check the catalog and your installed editor version for the structures you intend to edit.
In the current EMCP catalog, Free includes up to 217 tools and Pro up to 509. WordPress domains include content, plugins, themes, media, users, files, and database operations. Pro adds workflows such as premium prompts and templates, Project Memory, and custom widget/block building in the Sandbox. The feature matrix lists the exact tier boundaries.
Calls are checked against the connected WordPress user’s capabilities. Sensitive writes require opt-in, risky actions have confirmation gates, and Elementor revisions support review and recovery. These controls govern what an agent can do; they are not a blanket promise about every tool’s publishing status. Curated skills for creating Elementor pages

Atomic Elements, V3, and real client sites
An existing Elementor site rarely starts with a blank canvas. It may have years of widgets, templates, integrations, and client editing habits. Matching MCP tools to those structures matters more than the assistant’s name.
In its 11 September agency workflow report, Webgate describes keeping existing V3 structures while adding new Atomic sections on its own site. It also reports Cloudflare interference with authenticated REST requests and flags Wordfence or hosting firewalls as possible connection blockers. This is one agency’s experience, not an EMCP endorsement or a guarantee for every installation.
That coexistence does not establish that official MCP edits every classic page. Elementor’s announcement describes Atomic page operations. Likewise, EMCP’s widget and Atomic support should be checked against the actual document you want to change.
A useful first test
Pick one staging page. Ask for a draft using your existing styles, inspect it in Elementor, and check desktop and mobile output. Review authentication and firewall logs if connecting fails. Keep final publishing an explicit step in your workflow.
Angie vs a standalone MCP plugin
Angie is Elementor’s agentic WordPress plugin. It is not listed as a requirement for every official MCP feature. In the beta announcement, Elementor marks three broader groups as requiring Angie:
- Custom widgets and personalized WordPress admin experiences.
- Content management, debugging, and maintenance.
- Access to other capabilities registered with the WordPress Abilities API.
EMCP exposes its own Elementor and WordPress tools without that Angie dependency. The distinction is about the tool server and jobs it supports: a first-party Atomic workflow with Angie for those broader groups, or an independent MCP plugin with its own WordPress catalog. You can keep the same external AI client while evaluating either approach.

Does EMCP include curated skills for building Elementor pages?

No. EMCP supports page building with free Elementor 3.20+ without joining the beta channel. Elementor’s official MCP setup, as documented on 15 September 2026, requires its beta release and Atomic Editor. Choose according to the editor and tools you need.
Do I need the Atomic Editor for Elementor MCP?
As documented on 15 September 2026, official Elementor MCP requires Atomic Editor. EMCP also offers Elementor widget and container tools; its Atomic Elements and Global Classes features depend on Elementor 4.0+. Those are distinct capabilities, so check the catalog for your installed version.
Does Elementor MCP require Angie?
Not for every feature. Elementor’s announcement marks custom widgets/admin experiences, content management/debugging/maintenance, and access to other registered WordPress abilities as Angie-dependent. Its core Atomic page-building capabilities are listed separately. EMCP’s own Elementor and WordPress tools do not require Angie.
Do I need Elementor Pro or EMCP Pro?
EMCP’s core page-building tools work with free Elementor. Elementor Pro widgets require Elementor Pro to be installed, whichever MCP route you choose. EMCP Pro is a separate, optional license for additional EMCP tools and workflows; it does not include an Elementor Pro license.
Does Elementor MCP publish pages automatically?
Elementor’s 15 September announcement says generated work is saved as drafts. For EMCP, this comparison does not assert a universal publishing default: check the selected tool and requested page status. Capability checks and confirmation gates govern access; they do not replace checking whether a page is a draft.
Can I use Claude, Codex, or Cursor with either option?
Yes. Elementor explicitly lists these clients, and EMCP connects to MCP-compatible clients. The client overlap lets you evaluate the server’s editor support and WordPress scope without choosing a different AI assistant. Your client or model provider’s usage charges remain separate.
Can I run EMCP and Elementor MCP on the same site?
Simultaneous operation on one site has not been verified for this comparison. The “use both” recommendation means separate environments: test official MCP on an Atomic staging site and use EMCP on another suitable site. It is not a claim that both servers are conflict-free together.
